Knowing What to Look For With Your Starter

While a lot of people find breakdowns and car trouble to be unexpected, a lot of cases of car trouble are not unexpected. A lot of signs come before the vehicle actually gets to a point it is unable to function. One of the areas that have a lot of signs before breakdown is the starter.

One sign to look for with your starter in the case that it is going bad is that it is soaked with oil. If it is soaked in oil, then there is very likely very little time left in the starter. Therefore, it needs attention.

Freewheeling is another sign of a bad starter. This occurs when there is a whining noise from the engine when you start the engine. If you hear whining noise, then it is time to take your vehicle to the nearest or most trusted mechanic to get it looked at.
